Elderly Study
The Elderly Study is the third-year-project of the BHLab’s ongoing language learning advantage research project. The project was designed to determine whether the language learning would yield benefit in cognitive functioning, especially the executive function. The research would also find out the degree of how the two variants, language learning and executive function, are related. The methodology used is mostly the EEG. The researchers interpret the records of electrical signals emitted from brain activities of participants while performing sets of cognitive tasks. The EEG check is carried two times, ahead of and after language learning. With the two timed EEG check-ups, the potential of the language learning advantage can be determined. Most of the conditions of the experiments will be the same with the previous series of the project, but the age of participants.
