Our lab is currently doing a background music study that examines the influence of background music on language processing. Although there have been many previous behavioral research on the effect of background music on the performance of language-related tasks, the issue of whether music helps or hinders the processing of language is still under debate. Therefore our lab seeks to use ERP methods to directly observe brain responses in processing language errors with and without the presence of background music.
